Piaget Unveils Polo Skeleton Series With New Rose-Gold and Diamond-Set Timepieces

The first Polo Skeleton models in stainless steel cases have been released by Piaget, the leading manufacturer of Ultra Thin Watches For Men. Piaget hinted at a renewed focus on the Polo collection in 2021, and the watch and jewelry maker has delivered, showing four extra gold-cased models at Watches & Wonders 2021, three of which are diamond-set and two of which have entirely paved cases and movements.

Some Exclusive Features of Piaget Polo Skeleton Watch

·        Like all of Piaget's gold watches, the cases of the Piaget Polo Skeleton are forged in the company's gold foundry. The Piaget's Polo Skeleton is noted for its "form within a shape" design, which combines a circular case with a pillow-shaped dial opening.

·       The skeletonized, ultra-thin calibre 1200S is likewise made in-house, as is the gem-setting on the movements and cases done by expert artisans on-site. The cases, like their steel counterparts, are 42 mm in diameter and 6.5 mm thick, with a thin Piaget profile.

·       Of course, Piaget's famed jewelry-making expertise has been applied to the new models as well. The Piaget Polo Skeleton High Jewellery edition dazzles with its white-gold case and flange studded with 148 brilliant-cut diamonds and 132 baguette cuts, as well as its movement, which features 292 brilliant-cut diamonds and 11 brilliant-cut sapphires.

·       This version of the open-worked movement, which uses an off-centered micro-rotor to wind its mainspring, has been named Caliber 1200Di and is the thinnest diamond-set skeleton movement in the world, according to Piaget.

·       The High Jewellery edition has a rose-cut diamond set in the crown and is just slightly thicker than the non-stone-set cases at 7.99 mm. An additional six baguette-cut stones are set in the white-gold clasp of the variant with a grey alligator strap.

·       Dark blue details on the movement's bridges and plates contrast gracefully with the tones of the case and harmonize with the blue alligator strap, which is equipped with a quick-change mechanism on the non-gem-set model in 18k rose gold.

·       Another edition in 18K white gold has the same case dimensions and blue hues on the open-worked dial and quick-change strap, but it has a gem-set bezel with 56 glittering, brilliant-cut stones that give "a touch of glamour after dark."

Conclusion

Skeletonized wristwatches are largely thought to be a recent development. Prices start at 297,000 Swiss francs for the High Jewellery editions, which will be available in April 2021. The rose-gold and white-gold diamond-set variants, priced at 43,100 CHF and 58,500 CHF, will be available in September 2021.
